Article Planning Sheet

Plan the language use of the primary code of your article in the box below.

Article target audience:

Planning Comments
article genre
(purpose, type)
To inform, educate, and entertain.
The articles, going to teach the audience, more about the Middles Eastern and South Asian Cultures. Insight few, of how they live, and their traditions etc.
Narrative voice
(1st, 2nd or 3rd person)
It’s a collage, so I’m going to use 1st narrative voice when I write the caption of the photo. And then it’s going to adapt the 3rd narrative voice, when I write my articles for the collage describing their traditions.
Register
(informal/formal, colloquial, dialect, taboo words?)

Stylistics
(repetition, strong verbs, adjectives, alliteration, similes, metaphors, sentencing, rhythm)
It’s going to have a positive flow. There’s going to be strong verbs, and metaphors used.
I’m going to start my first article with a rhetorical question; this will make my audience think.
Tone of address
(hectoring, sarcastic, ‘matey’, ironic, etc)
My magazine is going to have a sarcastic attitude. But it’s not going to stop it from being reader friendly; I’m going to have an extent to the sarcasm I use.

Structure and pace
(discourse structure, logical paragraphing, connectives, conclusion)
The layout is going to be like a collage with little text boxes explaining the pictures. This is going to take up one side of the double page spread.

Difficulties..

I had a lot of difficulties this week, which affected my project. I was of for a week with a chest infection so I missed 4hours of project time, also during my absense I missed my photoshoot. So this week I had to  rebook my photoshoot and model for Monday the 11th February. This means that after my photoshoot I have exactly 4days till the deadline of this project. So I have to make sure that I am happy with the shoot and have a lot of images to chose from and that they are edited and done by tueday at the latest.

Other troubles I faced was trying to create my own background for my DPS2- collage, my idea was to have a cork board with post it notes. So I had to research a cork board and add the post it notes on.

For my DPS3-the Shariah law article, I felt as if my article was too personal and that the content was too sarcy and not really friendly so I had to make a lot of changes to the tone to make it have more of a friendlier, positive approach.

For my project to be succesful I am having to give up my free periods and lunches to catch up with what I have missed so that im not struggling through the last couple of days before the deadline.
